The heart of our restaurant is our owner, Rose.

As a little girl, growing up, Trinh (Rose) always had a love for cooking from watching her father cook. As the eldest daughter, she would take over cooking for her seven younger brothers and sisters.

Back in Vietnam, she went to medical school and became a general physician. Her dream was to help others. When patients did not have enough money, she would tell them not to worry and cover their medical costs. Her life motto that she live by is “làm gì phải làm với cái tâm” — "everything you do, you do it wholeheartedly".

After the Vietnam War, she immigrated to the United States with her husband. She sacrificed her dream to help sponsor her whole family over to the States in search of a better life. She wanted to create jobs for her siblings so she opened up a restaurant here in Normandy Park. It was never her plan to own a restaurant but as we know it, life works in mysterious ways. What started as just an avenue to create financial stability for her family, turned into Rose finding her new calling in life.

Throughout the years, Rose met so many people from all over the world. Stories of customers that have touched her. Rose shared her story which touched others. She believes food isn't just for eating but for bringing people together. For friends that haven't seen each other in a long time. Families who make Rose Pho their last meal as they embark on a new journey of being stationed in another country.

We hope that when you eat at our establishment, you can feel the love that our owner poured into her food and restaurant. That you not only leave with a full stomach but also with a full heart. Thank you to our customers old and new, it's because of you that our restaurant is The Little Restaurant That Could.
